Kreus Design brings 15 years of technical expertise in the design and manufacturing of scientific equipment with a proven track record of satisfied customers. Our speciality lies in probe stations from cryogenic temperature up to 500C, operating under vacuum or allowing accurate gas control for in-situ chemistry.

Kreus Design is focused on delivering state of the art hardware for advanced material science. Our diverse background enables us to rapidly understand your needs. Our engineering skills span mechanical, vacuum, cryogenics, electronics and software.

Thanks to this competencies we work with you from the initial instrument concept to the finalized product. It typically includes bibliographic review, safety and regulatory assessment, compliance matrix establishment, components selection, engineering development, fabrication, commissioning and installation.

Measurement at low temperature is a prevalent requirement in applications ranging from semiconductor characterisation or quantum computing to molecular or nano-electronics. KREUS has a wide range of field proven systems using either cost efficient flow cryostat (LN2 down to 77K or LHe down to 2.2K) or mechanical coolers with cooling power up to 1W at 4.2K.

High Temperature Probe Stations

We offer two systems allowing for high temperature measurement. Our first platform showcase a compact strip heater granting very fine control up to 125C. Our second platform is equipped with six cartridges heaters with up to 300W and a rated operational temperature up to 500C (Temperature up to 700C under a non corrosive environment possible).
The high power allows to study samples up to 2” even when a large amount of process gas is ran through the system. Power switch allows to also operate at smaller power ratings when operated under vacuum.
KREUS also has designed a unit using miniature button heater (DIA 7mm) with temperature above 1000C. High temperature probe station comes standard with ceramic probe holders to ensure longevity of the system.

Cost effective photosensitive and energy harvesting electronics components will pave the way of the renewable and green energy industry. To answer the researcher need in this emerging field KREUS have integrated a Class AAA light source to his chemistry probe station.
This device allows to measure samples up to 2” DIA in a spectral range from 400nm to 1100nm under a 100mW/cm2 flux. The unit comes with all the other standard feature of Kreus station such as temperature control, vibration isolation, integrated acquisition software and process gas management.

KREUS provides extreme physical environments:

  • Pressure and vacuum (from high pressure to extreme high vacuum)
  • Refrigeration and cryogenics (from LN2 flow cryostat to advanced dilution refrigerator)
  • Magnetism (from high field superconducting magnet to high speed single coil pulse generator)
  • Vibration free (sounds pressure level and seismic waves management )

Electrical Engineering
KREUS electronics (power delivery, high frequency, signal conditioning and data acquisition) provide reliable operation and seamless automation of your instrument. All of our electronics are CSA certified. We write dedicated software for your application and integrate it with low noise and high frequency electronics into robust and user-friendly designs. Element consulting team will ensure that your instrument achieves maximum performance.

Mechanical Engineering
KREUS uses modern 3D CAD software to:

Assembly & Commissioning

Building complex scientific instrument is a delicate task. Our in-house final assembly and commissioning processes are your guarantee of quality. From aligning a 2 meters transfer arm to bonding a 40 AWG wire to a piezoelectric actuator, our technicians handle the large and the small, the heavy and the delicate with the utmost care.

KREUS has experience assembling the most miniature and intricate devices and mounting them into purpose-built vacuum chambers. We understand the challenges of handling clean parts for ultra-high vacuum or ensuring that multilayer coated diamond windows remains scratch free. Our scientists test every system KREUS builds to ensure that it conforms to client specifications. KREUS carefully fixtures and packs its equipment to ensure that it can handle the stress of shipment to the final destination. We can travel to site to install our solutions.
